The Pediatrics Department at KWMC is committed to training MBBS and BDS students in the care of infants, children, and adolescents, focusing on promoting health, diagnosing illnesses, and managing developmental and medical conditions. This specialty addresses a broad spectrum of pediatric care, including neonatal health, infectious diseases, growth and nutrition, and chronic conditions.
The department combines lectures, clinical demonstrations, and hands-on training to provide a comprehensive understanding of pediatric care. Students gain practical experience through ward rounds, outpatient consultations, and case discussions. Facilities include a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) for advanced newborn care, a Pediatric Ward for inpatient management, and a Vaccination Unit for preventive healthcare practices.
The library offers a wide range of resources, including textbooks, journals, and case studies on pediatrics and neonatology. With its balanced curriculum and dedicated infrastructure, the Pediatrics Department prepares students to deliver compassionate and evidence-based care to young patients.
Kumudini Women’s Medical College (KWMC) was established within the umbrella of Kumudini Welfare Trust in 2001. The aim is to materialize the dream of the founder by enrolling enthusiastic, dedicated and academically gifted female students who would pursue education which meet their needs and respond to the demand and opportunities of medicine, science, ethics and public policy.
